Entry: Sherfy Garden Week 1 Dec 7, 2016

My first time at Sherfy Garden was September 22. I reached out to Jolene, a woman who was in charge of the whole thing by e-mail. She promptly e-mailed me back asking me to walk to the 7-11 to get picked up, because she did not know where my dorm was. I agreed, and that morning I walked to 7-11 and waited outside. A few minutes later, a blue mini van with an outer banks sticker rolled up. The woman inside the car asked if I was Francesca and I said yes while hopping in. On the ten minute drive to the garden, we got to know each other's brief back stories. When we finally pulled up to a beautiful red house with a small garden on the side yard enclosed by a white picket fence. The first thing Jolene did was gave me a tour of the garden, and the barn with supplies. I did not really retain what crops were growing just yet, as it was my first time, but I do know there was a lot of peppers. I know this because that was my first job. I harvested a huge basket of jalepenos, banana peppers, and bell peppers. When I finished, Jolene told me how impressed she was and we left. I had such a wonderful time, and knew I would soon find this place as a new home.
